A pair of cards.

So this was the paper that was left over from my scrapbook page yesterday. The cards are the same except one is pink and one is red. See the pretty bows? I learned how to tie pretty bows by watching this video tutorial by Joann B. I used the new Chocolate Chip satin ribbon and corduroy buttons from the Occasions Mini. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is being able to pre-order a month in advance! Customers will be able to order from this Mini beginning January 5th.
Of course, if you join my Stamps Around Town team, you could pre-order too! PLUS get an extra 20% off your new stamps from that catalogue as well as your 20% commission....AND new demonstrators also get an extra 10% off their first order...so that's like 50% off! You can join online by going to my website and clicking Join My Team....password is barbie.

A 12x12 page based on a sketch

I was blog hopping and visited Lyssa's blog and she had posted this sketch. I really liked it and wrote that I would create my own page based on this sketch. You'll notice my version is slightly different, but all the elements are there, just arranged a bit differently.
That is the best thing about using sketches...you can copy exactly or play around with it a bit. I plan on using this sketch again, and my page will likely be much different than this one!

I used new Occasions Mini product as well as some regular catty product:
-12x12 Chocolate Chip card stock
-Sending Love specialty DSP
-scallop trim border punch
-Heart of Heart embosslits die
-I [love] love wheel
-With All My Heart stamp set
-Heart to Heart punch
-Serif Essentials alphabet die

I hope you like my page, even though the photos aren't on there yet! Thanks for stopping by!

Love Me Some NEW Goodies!

Oooohhh! I love it when the UPS guy shows up, but I was especially excited on Thursday because he brought me my pre-order stuff! This whole box was just for me!
Most of the sets I chose to get as unmounted sets.
As soon as I get to playing with everything (I know, but I'm sick right now), I will post my new creations.

Birthday Acetate card

This is a birthday card for Ree, one of the ladies from my Curves group. (We all exercise together). She loves dogs and her favourite colour is purple.
I love the acetate cards! They are fun to make and look really cool! I stamped on the acetate with white StazOn. The set I used is called Man's Best Friend and is on the dormant list, soon to be retired on Jan. 4.
Thanks for looking!

Blog Hop Featuring Classy and Fabulous!

Welcome to the Retiring List Blog Hop! This Blog Hop is brought to you by the wonderful and creative people at Stampin' Addicts! I am stop #2. You probably came to me from stop #1 Mary's blog, or perhaps from stop #3 Melissa's blog.
I am featuring one of my favourite sets, Classy and Fabulous. This is such a darling set, with one of the best quotes of all time: "A girl should be two things...classy and fabulous".
My first project is a card book. This is the outside, and inside it can hold four cards with envelopes.

This next project is just a basic card, using the sentiment I quoted earlier. The designer paper is Night and Day from the Holiday mini.
Remember, This set is on the dormant list and will no longer be available after January 5th!

Thanks for stopping by!
Now you can hop to #3, Melissa...or #1 Mary.

Using scraps

I make it a point to use up my scrap pieces of paper right away, otherwise it ends up in my "drawer of doom" never to be used again...mostly because I am too lazy to root through it to find what I am looking for. So as I finish my projects, and have these strips of pretty paper laying around, I come up with ways to use them up.
On this card, I cut the strips of paper to 4" and adhered them to my card. All the pieces are different thicknesses depending on what was left, and that doesn't matter, as long as they are all the same length (4"). Then I used a long image for the center...I used this cute reindeer stamp I had (not SU, but I just love him). I love the way this turned out, and in fact made several of these cards to give away.
Hope you can all find ways to use your scraps...if you have any tips, please share!

acetate card

I was in a card exchange recently and received a really cute acetate card. So I thought I'd make my own acetate card. The only acetate I had was from the Night and Day designer series paper from the holiday mini catalogue, so I used that...so what if it has polka dots on it? I really like how it turned out and realize I will now have to buy more acetate.
Don't forget to check out the amazing deals Stampin' Up! is offering right now...the 50% off sale ends on Monday, Nov. 30.

My new look!

Well, actually, it's Michelle Laycock's new look, but she created it just for me!
I LOVE it!
It is completely different than anything I had imagined.
So now I really have to blog more often. Really. I mean it this time.
I am finally able to catch my breath for a few weeks, anyway, before Sale-a-Bration starts! I am so very excited for SAB and already have 4 workshops booked in January, plus a brand new Stamper's Club starting.
So I will leave you with a cute Cold and Cuddly penguin.
Thanks for stopping by!

Snowmen

Quick and easy snowmen card. I used the poinsettia embossing folder, but only embossed most of the white, not all, so i had room for the sentiment. I coloured the snowmen with markers.
Hope you likey!

Yep...I'm still here...

I am a very bad blogger.
I have been blessed with the best hostesses and customers in the world and have been very busy doing workshops and teaching classes...and adding new members to my Stamps Around Town team! Stampin' Up! is keeping me very busy, but I am loving every minute!
Yesterday I spent 16 hours at my local scrapbook store for a fun day of stamping, card making and scrapbooking. Talk about your all day crop! It was a blast!
I still have a few bookings til the end of the month, so I promice I will post some projects soon!

I want my mummy

I saw this idea somewhere...
My own version of the mummy card. I just love the googlie eyes!
This is one of the cards that seems like a good idea when you start it, but 20 minutes later, you're like, "this is the last time I do this!" It is very time consuming. I guess the result is worth it, but this is definitely one of a kind...cuz I'm not doing it again! LOL!

Pretty Flowers

This scanned very crooked...couldn't fix it.
I used the 5 petal punch to make the flowers. I punched them out of Melon Mambo patterns DSP. I also used the Top Note die. The sentiment was punched out with word window punch and layered onto modern label punch. I then used the sizzlets little leaves and added buttons to the flowers.
Thanks for visiting!

A Fun Surprise!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend! I sure did! Yummy turkey dinner with all the fixins'!
I got a cool surprise in the mail today...a fun make & take complete with instructions! How fun. So I put it together and the result is the lovely card you see here. This was from Caroline LeBel, who hosted the Stampin'Palooza I have been posting about. So thank you, Caro!

In other news, here is a photo of me presenting at said Palooza. See that hand, holding the mic? That's Brent, he is Caro's hubby and my own personal mic holder.

Swap cards from Palooza

So what exactly is Stampin'Palooza? It is a stamping event put on by Caroline LeBel (#5 demonstrator of the year in Canada) for her customers and other demonstrators to come and enjoy a day full of fun! For demos only, we got to enjoy a Friday night with Linda Hanson. Saturday was packed full of swaps, WOW demonstrations (I was one of the presenters), creative ideas shared by Linda Hanson, lots of display boards AND 5 make & takes! We were all given a bag when registering which included a stamp set, all the materials for our M&T, and tickets for door prize draws...of which there were PLENTY! My friend Trina won the Bigz XL table setting die from the mini-she was so excited! Oh, and of course we were fed! It was really fun and she's doing it all again in February.

Here are just 5 of the amazing swaps I received:

Cupcake card by Kris Steer.
Halloween card by Lisa Cuypers.
Tree card by Cynthia McKellar.
Reindeer card by Kari Hurst.
My fave by far-unfortunately I can't read the name stamped on the back. What you can't see is the glimmer mist covering the whole card...it's absolutely GORGE!

I'm back from Palooza!

I just got home from a FABULOUS trip to Toronto to attend the FIRST Stampin'Palooza. Wow, it was so much fun! I have lots of photos to share, but I confess I am very exhausted. I promise I will upload photos tomorrow. I've got make and takes, display boards, photos of fun people (like Linda Hanson and Caroline Lebel) so you will want to come back tomorrow!
Just wanted to say...it was worth the drive!

Autumn Leaves and Clearance SALE!

My friend Laura challenged me to use the colours purple, red and gold. In Stampin' Up colours, that would be Elegant Eggplant, Real Red and More Mustard. I used the Autumn Splendor set and I really love the way it turned out.

In other exciting news, Stampin' up is clearing out old inventory and is having a huge sale. Some of these items are 79% off the original price! You can only get these items while supplies last and only in my online store. Click HERE to see the deals!

Classy and Fabulous!

The Night and Day paper looks so great with black and red. I used the set Classy and Fabulous, which is on the dormant list, but still available for purchase.

On a sad note, we had to euthanize our cat Lily today. It's been a tough day.
Thanks for stopping by.

Teal Ornament

This card was created for the sketch challenge (SASC28) at Stampin' Addicts (my favourite hang out spot). I used the Holiday Lounge designer series paper with Tempting Turquoise card stock. To make the ornament, I used one of the rub ons from Merry and Bright rub on kit (page 25 of the mini catalogue). Then I punched it out with the so cool ornament punch. I love that this punch has a matching stamp set AND matching rub ons!
Thanks for looking!

You can order from me anytime, 24/7, by visiting my online store!

Last night we had a fabulous workshop! Linda, my hostess, was able to get the level 2 hostess only set she wanted PLUS 70.00 in free product of her choice! PLUS she was able to choose anything from the Holiday mini catalogue for only 14.00. She was very happy!
This snowflake card was one of the two cards we made last night. This is the french version (they could choose between french and English).
I used Serene Snowflakes (page 26 in the Holiday mini) and stamped in Night of Navy. The main snowflake has a clear rhinestone brad in the center and is popped up with dimensionals.

The second card we did was this one:

This is the English version. :)
I used the Delightful Decorations set and matching punch (page 24 of the Holiday mini). The paper is from the Jingle Simply Scrappin' kit. I used Many Merry Messages (and its french counterpart, nombreux joyeux messages) for the sentiments outside the card as well as the verses inside. I have to say, I got these two Christmas sets 3 years ago, and I use them every year! SO worth it!
