Altered Tin

On Saturday, I attended an other all-day crop at a LSS. I decided I was going to use my favourite paper to alter this tin I got from my Secret Sister (from SCS). The paper and matching ribbon is from the Urban Window Collection by We R memory keepers. I am THRILLED with the outcome.
Now, what do I use this tin for?

A Spooky Halloween

So, as far as "spooky" goes, i guess I'm pretty tame. I really like the "bad things" in this issue of Martha Stewart Halloween edition. The spooky spider porch is awesome!

I am also planning on doing up some mad scientist jars.

As far as Halloween craft supplies go, I LOVE patterned paper...(we've already established that I'm a paper whore). I love purple, black, green and orange together. I can never have enough black brads.
I like this set from Paper Trey. I also like the Best Witches stamp from Stampendous.
These rub-ons from AMM are cute and so are these Herbanella stickers.
So, I hope this helps out my swap partner Connie to get a better idea of what kind of halloween stuff I like.

Hallow-Scream?

Ok, by now you all must know I am a paper whore. That's right, I said it. I love patterns and I love putting patterns together.
After designing my last halloween layout, I had some paper left over so naturally, I made some cards. This paper is from the Enchanted collection by Close To My Heart and is so YUMMY! I have, in fact, ordered another pack of it!
Lots of sanding and distressing with these cards. CTMH paper is white core, so the sanding looks so cool! The sentiments are from the set Hallow-Scream, also from CTMH.

One More!

I managed to squeeze out another card using the rest of my paper from the Urban Window collection. This paper is so rich and scrumptious!
I used old olive brads in random spots around the stem. The sentiment is from the Three For You punch box.

What can you do with...

What can you do with 3 sheets of patterned paper and 4 sheets of card stock? Well, I found out I can make 8 cards! I found this GORGEOUS paper by We R memory keepers called Urban Window collection. I chose the flower, paisley and stripe patterns. I used SU Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive card stock. Here are 6 of the cards I made. (I gave the other 2 away already).

Had a Busy Weekend!

It was busy, but so much fun.
Saturday, I had a workshop...went really well and the hostess is thrilled with her freebies. Sunday was the Blackburn Scrappers crop. We meet once a month. Our last crop was in may so it was great to see everyone again! I made 11 cards that day.
My friend Barb was there in the morning and she gave me some of her scrap paper...I think it's Basic Grey's haute couture, but not positive. Anyway, I LOVE it! It goes perfectly with SU's Old Olive and Chocolate Chip card stock!

Limited Layers

Another SCS challenge...Limited Layers. this was tough...I like layers. Though not as much as Faith! Her cards are usually 10 or more layers!
When Trina was visiting me on Sunday, she brought her Tres Chic stamp and I stamped up a bunch of backgrounds...first, I used Canvas with Creamy Caramel ink then I used Tres Chic with Chocolate Chip ink. I made up 6 of these to use later. Well, when I saw today's Limited Supplies Challenge, I knew this was the time to use it! I also used my new Think Happy Thoughts and my scallop and 1 1/4" circle punches.

Sketch Challenge cards

Splitcoaststampers posts challenges every day and Wednesdays are sketch challenges. I loved today's sketch...I made 2 cards.

This one used my brand new Autumn Fest and left over paper from the Urban Window Collection by We R Memory Keepers.

I'm not sure what line this paper is from...but i loves stripes! It matched perfectly with old olive card stock. I used my fave scallop punch and Frank from the Batty For You set.

Up for the challenge

Tracy's Happy Place has her monthly challenge up and you can see it HERE. Tracy says,"Well for this months Challenge I want you to create a card using a stamp or stamp set that you bought and have not used in 'forever' or have never picked up since you bought it!" Well, I bought Cobblestone alphabet from CTMH last March. HAD to have it! I never used it. Until today, that is! Can you believe that? How many months is that-7? Jeez! So here is my challenge card, using my 7 month old Cobblestone alphabet, Groovy Guava and Basic Black card stock, ink and ribbon. (I also used Brocade Basics on the background-it is embossed with clear EP).

Bad to The Bone!

I adore Halloween. I love decorating, making cards, making costumes, making up treat bags, and carving decorative pumpkins. I love Halloween colours. I especially love last year's paper from Stampin' Up! I'm glad I bought extra, but I'm running out.
I also love the Batty For You set from Stampin' Up. It's perfect with the 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch and scallop punch. I could do this all day!

Holiday Card Fun

On Friday nights, Mike and I usually end up at Auntie Em's (my LSS) and last Friday was no exception...except Emma had a HUGE selection of new stamps and I went a little crazy. I bought some new Hero Arts stamps and made these 2 cards:

I used last year's SU Christmas paper, Old Olive and Cranberry Crisp card stock and 2 of my new stamps on this card. I embossed the christmas ball and merry christmas sentiment in silver, then I added the silver cord.

I used Purely Pomegranite and Blue Bayou for this card. The background was wheeled in versamark with the new Mistletoe wheel and embossed with clear embossing powder. The back panel is the holiday stamp from Block Party. The Merry and Bright is from another Hero Arts stamp. I used my coluzzle to cut it out (I'm hoping SU comes out with a 2" circle punch!) and used my scallop punch for the mat. The ribbon is Purely Pomegranite double-stitched and white grosgrain. The circle and scallop are popped up with dimensionals.

My Swap Cards

I am involved in a Holiday Card Swap. I didn't want to make "Christmas" cards because not everyone celebrates this holiday, so I made it a Holiday card. I really like the way it came out...I love the white embossing. I hope the recipients enjoy them as well.

Daily Dose of Spazz: New Swap and Blog!!

Batty For Frank!

I created this for today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. You can find it HERE.
I used my much loved Batty for You set. The background green panel was cuttlebugged for me by my friend Amy at our last cottage stamp-a-rama! She "bugged" a bunch of backgrounds for us.

Bohemian Birthday

I love this paper from My Mind's Eye called Bohemia. The colours are so rich. I didn't want to cover up all the yummy paper, so I chose to just add a sentiment on the front of this card.

I made this card for Splitcoast Stampers colour challenge 130...Groovy Guava and Always Artichoke. I felt it needed a bit of chocolate chip in there, too!

The results are in...

My scrapbook page won first place. I'm happy, but shocked. (The passport photo that looks like it is off the page actually tucks in under the other photo).

EDIT: This next page is NOT my page. It's someone else's entry. I just really loved it and was surprised it came THIRD! I think she deservbed first. it's a gorgeous photo and beautiful LO.
I think this scrapbook page should have won first place. It's gorgeous. The only reason I can think of that it came in THIRD is because there is no journalling.

Now, my cards came in second. This shocked me. I thought for sure I would have got first place. The first place winner had her cards in a matching box...the one we make from a sheet of card stock. I think that's why she won.

All in all, I am happy I entered. I will probobly enter again next year. Oh, and my mom is thrilled that "our" scrapbook page came in first!
