You Make Motherhood Look Good!

I was playing with the colour challenge over at Splitcoast, and decided to try CC677, Calypso Coral
Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy. This was a struggle for me as I don't really use Peekaboo Peach ever, but I played along. I created a mother's Day card using A Mother's Flair from the Occasions catalogue.

I embossed the background to add some texture, and I added some glitter enamel dots to fancy it up a bit. I really love the sentiment on this card.

Party Pandas!

It's the last month of Sale-a-Bration and today I am featuring the Party Pandas set.

I created basically the same card, but on one I added punched out balloons and on the other I added just the Tutti-Frutti sequins.

It is hard for me to pick which one I like the best. I do know these pandas are adorable and are only available until March 31!

A Little Colour Inspiration

I love looking for colour combos on Pinterest, and I came upon this one today.

The samples on their blog were amazing! Definitely worth checking out!
So here is what I did:

I stamped the word Dad in Night of navy, Calypso Coral and Soft Sky to make my background. Then I added the sentiment, with a strip of Calypso Coral in back to add colour. Very simple to create.

Occasions Catalogue Extravaganza!

Today, 19 ladies joined me in creating 6 different projects using product from the Occasions catalogue. This class was originally scheduled for January, but due to severe weather and road closures, it was postponed to today.
Here are the projects we did:
I have a basket that contains everything needed to create the projects, and the baskets get rotated.

Pretty Valentine

I wanted to make a Valentine card for a friend, but I was tired of pink and red, so I went on Pinterest and found thie colour combination

I really like the colours together, and even used it as a challenge for my Stamps fantastic! team.
So I took out my 2 favourite heart sets from the occasions catalogue, Sure Do Love You bundle with framelits (145966) and Heart happiness (145769) and began creating.

I stamped the largest heart image in Soft Sky ink, then used the largest heart framelit to cut the inside, which reveals the Soft Sky cardstock underneath. I stamped the rest of the hearts and used the matching framelits to cut them out, and layered them on my card. I stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy, and used the banner framelit to cut it out, and popped it up on my card. Finally, I decided to use the Glitter enamel dots (144200) to embellish the card.

Creating with the Waterfront set

When I first saw the Waterfront stamp set in the Occasions catalogue, I thought this one will have LOTS of possibilities! From what I have seen on Pinterest, I was right!
I love the versatility of this set and I have had lots of fun creating with it, but my absolute favourite card so far is this one.

I followed a colour combination I saw on Pinterest...

In Stampin' Up colours, I used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Tranquil Tide and Pool Party and Whisper White.
Here is a close up of the stamped image:

Waterfront (item # 146386) is available to order now until May 31, 2018. You can email me your order, or shop directly from my online store.

I am in love with Brusho, a product that Stampin' Up is now carrying. It is so much fun to use!   Brusho really is a one-of-a-kind, unique painting medium! The colours are a transparent, highly-pigmented water-colour ink that comes packed in small drums which contain the dry, crystalline powder. ... Once the Brusho is applied, you really have no choice other than to let the paint do the work! There are several ways to use it, but my favourite way is to sprinkle the powder onto glossy card stock, spritz with water, and watch the magic happen!

Here is how I made the card; the item numbers of each product are listed in brackets.
First, cut a piece of white glossy card stock (144240) to 3" x 5"
(you will also need to cut a piece of Old Olive card stock (100702)  to 3 1/8 and 5 1/8 for matting, and a piece of Thick White card stock (140272) at 5 1/2" by 11" then folded in half )
Second, stamp the desired image ( I used the set You're Inspiring 145808) with versamark (102283) then emboss with white embossing powder (109132)
Third, sprinkle your desired colours of Brusho (144101) onto your image. Here I used yellow and moss green.
Fourth, spritz with water and watch. The colours will burst and spread and melt into one another. To get the desired look I was after, I used an aqua painter (103954) to paint it where I wanted it.
Finally, I used my heat tool to dry it up a bit, then blotted up any leftover colour with a tissue.
Try and experiment with it. They will never be the same twice!
As you see above, there is more blue and more blending with the first image than the second. That is what makes it so fun!

All Day Crp Creations

Once a month I host an all day crop in my studio, from 10:00am to 10:00pm. This past Saturday was the first one for 2018! My guests had a great time creating with some of the new product from the Occasions catalogue, and the Sale-a-Bration goodies. All my guests get to use my stamps, ink, punches and Big Shot items, as well as use their own stuff from home. The goal is to have fun and Get Creative! We succeeded.
Here are a few of  my creations:

If you or someone you know is interested in joining an all day crop, just send me an email!
